Job requirements
What are you going to do?
As an IECEx & ATEX Approval Expert, you will be responsible for the assessment, testing, and certification of equipment intended for use in explosive atmospheres. You’ll work directly with manufacturers to ensure compliance with ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU and IECEx system requirements.
Why in Delft?
This opportunity has been created because of the continued growth of ExVeritas and the strategic decision by the NMi Group to expand its team of ATEX engineers at NMi Certin in Delft. As part of this growth, we are looking for talented professionals to join our mission of delivering exceptional certification and compliance services in the field of explosion protection.
What do we expect from you?
We are looking for an engineer who enjoys delving deeper in the world of technology and sharing their expertise. Accuracy and attention to detail are key. Project management is an essential part of your role; you are able to keep an overview of the status of your projects, whilst keeping your customers, the team and other stakeholders updated on the progress. In addition:
You have a HBO degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
You have project management skills ensuring completion on time and within budget
Experience with explosion safety certification with regards to the different protection concepts
Fluent in English, both in writing and spoken
You take initiative, are accurate and have a passion for technology
If the above has piqued your interest, but you are looking for a role in which you can apply your expertise more broadly, we are also open to exploring opportunities for a Technical Partner.
As Technical Partner Explosion Safety you are responsible for exploring opportunities in the field of explosion protection to drive the development of new services within NMi. With your in-depth knowledge of ATEX, IECEx and explosion protection principles, and your extensive network in the Ex domain, you are able to connect our services with relevant stakeholders.
In this broad role, you translate technical expertise into customer value. You perform consultancy assignments for manufacturers and system integrators, support them with compliance strategies, and advise on conformity routes. You are actively involved in the commercial process — identifying customer needs, preparing proposals, and contributing to order intake. You also take responsibility for the operational delivery of services, ensuring high quality and customer satisfaction.
Your combination of commercial insight and technical authority makes you the ideal conversation partner at all levels, from Ex engineers to technical managers and decision makers. You are NMi’s ambassador, promoting our explosion safety services around the world.
What can you expect from NMi?
At NMi, you’ll be at the forefront of real transactions — with full-cycle deal exposure, direct access to decision-makers, and a chance to actively shape a high-growth, international platform. You’ll work in a dynamic, Private Equity-backed environment where your contributions have clear impact. We also support your professional and personal development, and offer:
A best-in-class international working environment with true dealmaking exposure
A competitive salary based on education and experience
Annual holiday pay, a thirteenth month paid out monthly and a solid profit-sharing bonus
30 holiday days for full-time employment (with option to buy/sell)
An excellent pension plan
Flexible hybrid working options
Reimbursement for travel expenses, home office allowance, collective health insurance and sports benefits\
