Are you fascinated by the field of explosion protection and eager to apply your skills in an international organisation ensuring equipment meet the highest safety standards in explosive atmospheres? If so, you are the Certification Engineer ATEX that we are looking for!

What are you going to do?

As a Certification Engineer ATEX, you will manage and execute certification projects for manufacturers seeking ATEX and IECEx approvals for equipment intended for use in explosive atmospheres. You will lead projects from application to certification, ensuring compliance with legislation and standards, while also taking a hands-on role in testing and collaborating closely with laboratory engineers.

The role is dynamic and client-facing, requiring travel to customer sites to perform on-site inspections and testing. This position combines project management, hands-on technical work, and client engagement. We provide on-the-job training to ensure you develop the skills and knowledge required to handle certification processes, standards interpretation, and regulatory compliance effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage multiple ATEX and IECEx certification projects from start to finish, including planning, scheduling, and coordination with customers, internal teams, and external laboratories

  • Conduct and supervise hands-on testing, working closely with engineers to develop test plans

  • Perform on-site testing and inspections at customer locations, ensuring compliance with ATEX and IECEx standards

  • Review and evaluate technical documentation to ensure compliance with directives and relevant international standards

  • Prepare reports, issue certifications, and maintain records for internal and external stakeholders

  • Act as the main point of contact for customers, providing updates on project status, test results, and certification outcomes

  • Track project progress, anticipate challenges, and implement solutions to maintain schedules and compliance standards

  • Stay up to date with legislation, standards, and industry developments relevant to explosion protection

  • Participate in on-the-job training to strengthen technical knowledge and certification expertise
