Job description
Be the financial sparring partner behind operational performance and growth
In a growing project-based business, understanding financial performance goes beyond reporting the numbers. It requires insight into what drives results, where opportunities exist, and how decisions today impact performance tomorrow. Translating those insights into action is what enables sustainable growth.
We are looking for a Finance Business Partner who combines strong financial expertise with a genuine interest in the business behind the numbers. Working closely with the Managing Directors in the Benelux and the Group CFO, you help steer a fast-growing business. Through financial insight, constructive challenge, and hands-on analysis, you support the decisions that drive performance, profitability and growth. You are the financial sparring partner to the business, connecting operations, sales and management through clear insights and practical recommendations.
At the same time, you remain close to the numbers. You take ownership of project control and revenue recognition, monitor project performance and perform the analyses needed to understand results. You enjoy improving processes and identifying opportunities for automation, while ensuring financial information remains accurate, timely and relevant. This is not a role where control activities are managed from a distance. We are looking for someone who enjoys rolling up their sleeves, getting involved, and taking ownership of the details.
As a private equity-backed organisation, we are also pursuing growth through acquisitions. The role therefore provides exposure to M&A activities and the integration of newly acquired businesses within the Benelux region, alongside leadership responsibility for a small team of controllers. Because the team operates with a high degree of independence, you have the opportunity to focus on business performance, continuous improvement and supporting an ambitious growth agenda.
Why this role stands out:
You’ll operate at the intersection of finance and the business, partnering closely with management while staying hands-on with project control, performance analysis and decision support
This is a forward-looking role focused on improving future performance, not simply reporting on past results
You’ll have the opportunity to shape and further professionalise reporting, forecasting and financial processes within a growing organization
As part of a private equity-backed business, you’ll contribute to growth initiatives, acquisitions and business integrations
You’ll play a key role in driving automation and process improvements, helping finance deliver greater insight with less manual effort
You’ll mentor a team of controllers, helping them grow while retaining a strong focus on business partnering and value creation.
What you’ll get:
A seat at the table with the Managing Directors and Group CFO, where you’ll directly influence the business performance, growth initiatives and strategic decision-making
The opportunity to shape and professionalise the finance function, from reporting and forecasting to automation and performance management
An international working environment with colleagues and clients worldwide
A competitive salary based on your experience
A 13th month salary (paid monthly), holiday allowance, and profit sharing
30 days of annual leave, with the option to buy or sell additional days
Hybrid working options
A solid pension scheme
Travel reimbursement, home office allowance, and collective health insurance
Access to sports benefits
Job requirements
What you bring
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Business Economics, Accounting or a related field
5+ years of relevant experience in business control, finance business partnering or a comparable role, including experience with project control
Strong analytical and data skills, with the ability to identify opportunities for automation and process improvement
A hands-on mindset; you enjoy rolling up your sleeves and turning data into actionable business insights
Strong stakeholder management skills; you collaborate effectively across functions and can navigate conflicting interests when needed
Fluent in English, Dutch is a strong advantage
Experience with IFRS 15 revenue recognition is a strong plus
